Have you heard the news? Did you see the latest and greatest and grooviest? Well where have you been hiding? Head over to Ragtime Seance and check out what my pal Dru, and her pal Mathyld are up to. They’re giving classes on how to make beautiful camis and embroider them yourselves.
What? You want more? Okay, well they’re having a give away and you can win a lovely, personalized, hand embroidered hankie such as this one:
I’m tired and stressed and doing too many things. While I really wanted to commit to the silliness that is 9/02/10, I can’t do this everyday. And in the end, aren’t I really sparing us all?
Gallery1988, who I’ve worked with in LA before has invited me to participate in a show at the SF gallery, Crazy4Cult: Customs.
Like prior Cult shows in LA, all the work is based on cult films, but for the Customs show it’s all plush, 3D, and sculptural works. I’ve made a Heathers Suicide Pillow Triptych.
The show will be up from Saturday Sept 4th until Sept 24th – the pieces I’ve seen so far are awesome, it’s worth a visit – but if you’re in SF for the opening, stop by and say hello!
The third night (are you getting bored yet?) of the Twelve Nights of 9/02/10! Emma Caulfield! That’s right Bufffy fans, before playing caustic, bunny fearing Demon turned girlfriend, Anya, Emma played caustic reporter who wound up Brandon’s girlfriend. Remember, there was a whole season of her during college, when Brendon was a reporter? Never mind.
Turns out Emma’s still acting, though she passed up auditioning for Battlestar apparently, making some movies and currently writing a web comic called Contropussy. Huh, who knew?
Welcome to the second night of my count down of the Twelve Nights of 90210, the nights leading up to this Sept. 2 – 9/02/10 (I didn’t figure it out, blame the City of Beverly Hills, there are banners everywhere).
Anyway, this evening’s celebrity who got a break on 90210 (the original series, people), is Hilary Swank. Yep, Hilary did a season of 90210, playing Carly, a single mom and waitress at The Pit who wound up being Steve’s big love, but she broke his heart when she moved away so Zach (her annoying tv son) could be closer to his grandmother. Originally she was promised a two year deal, but was written off after 16 episodes. She was very hurt and worried that, “If I’m not good enough for 90210, I’m not good enough for anything.”
Yes, today Hilary is a big shot, and has played every thing from transgendered females and tough female boxers, to androgenous early fliers (hm), but let’s always remember her getting pretty and going out for a night on the town with Steve.
